I've been interested in health, fitness and being active for most of my life, but my own journey hasn't always been straightforward.
Growing up, I was an active child. I was out on my mountain bike, playing football, swimming, skateboarding and taking part in anything that involved being active. I loved sport, but despite that, I struggled with my weight and body image.
As I got older, I tried different diets, fitness programmes and gym memberships, often with the goal of losing weight. I'd be motivated for a while, but I struggled to turn those efforts into something that felt like a sustainable part of my life. Exercise could easily take a back seat when work, social life and everything else became a priority.
Eventually, I reached a point where I wanted to approach things differently. I didn't want another quick fix or another cycle of doing everything perfectly, becoming frustrated and eventually giving up. I wanted to understand the foundations of health and fitness and find an approach that could genuinely fit into my life.
That change in mindset is what led me to become a Personal Trainer.
One of the biggest things I've learned from my own experience is that sustainable progress isn't about being perfect.
Life happens. Some weeks you'll feel great, other weeks won't go to plan. You might miss a session, change your routine or have a week where your progress doesn't look the way you expected.
That doesn't mean you've failed.
I believe in finding a balance that allows you to keep showing up and making progress without fitness having to take over your life.
For me, fitness has become less about chasing a particular number or trying to live up to somebody else's idea of what I should look like, and more about feeling stronger, healthier and capable of doing the things I want to do — both now and as I get older.
My aim is to help you build the knowledge, strength, fitness and confidence to make progress in a way that is realistic for your life and meaningful to you.
No pressure, no expectations, just an open conversation about your goals.
